Background

The Education Bureau has been encouraging schools to implement inclusive education through a whole-school approach, and has provided additional resources, professional support and teacher training to public sector ordinary schools to assist schools in caring for students with special educational needs. This includes the implementation of the "School Partnership Scheme" starting from the 2003/04 school year. As a special school and resource center in the plan, our school supports students with special educational needs in mainstream schools through sharing experience and support skills, short-term adaptive courses, etc. .

Services contents

The Educational Resource Center mainly provides two levels of support services:

Student level

After students leave social education schools and return to mainstream schools, the resource center will follow up on their learning and adaptation status one by one, provide counseling on possible learning or emotional and behavioral problems they may have, and promote cooperation between parents and schools to jointly support these students. Services include: providing students with school selection advice before they leave school; helping students understand the ordinary schools they are about to attend and make preparations; providing guidance to students before entering ordinary schools; actively contacting and caring for students who return to ordinary schools, and understanding Their current situation, and provide advice and assistance as needed; arrange gatherings for school leavers; and contact parents of school leavers and respond to their inquiries, etc. 

School level 

After obtaining the consent of school leavers and their parents, the resource center will transfer student information to relevant mainstream schools, contact the schools, conduct professional exchanges on issues of common concern, and promote home-school cooperation to help school leavers integrate smoothly and continuously Ordinary school life. Services include: organizing workshops / sharing sessions on handling emotions / behavior / academic counseling, providing professional consulting services to mainstream school staff, and providing on-site support services to individual school leavers with emotional distress or adjustment difficulties, etc., to jointly assist students Integrate into campus life.
