Introduction

Established in 1970 on Shing Tak Street, the school was later renamed SBC Shing Tak Centre School in 1974. In 2005, the school was relocated to its current site in Kwun Tong. With a maximum capacity of 132, we offer classes for primary and secondary level students with moderate to severe emotional and/or behavioral difficulties.

Our school is one of the eight schools in Hong Kong designated as a school for social development (SSD). We strive to uphold our motto of "Self-respect, Self-discipline & Self-reliance" and are dedicated to providing a comprehensive environment for our students' development. We maintain a harmonious, healthy, and caring environment to help our pupils implement whole-life changes.

Service Objectives

To accommodate the diverse learning abilities and needs of various students, alongside the mainstream curriculum, the school recognizes the importance of promoting whole-person development of its students and adopts a whole-school approach through its cross-professional team. This approach focuses on cultivating students' ethics, intelligence, physical fitness, social skills, aesthetic potential, and career aspirations, all of which are essential for their personal and professional growth and for preparing students to eventually reintegrate into mainstream education.

Service Targets

The school provides services to students aged 9 to 18 with moderate to severe emotional and/or behavioral difficulties, most of whom are enrolled in the residential program operated by the Society of Boys Centres.
